Would it be bad to not give out wedding favors?
My fiance and I are having a hard time deciding if we want to give out wedding favors. We are already spending quite a bit on food and drink, because we wanted to have a really nice meal. We have really nice hors d'oeurves, soup, salad, intermezzo sorbet, 4 entree choices (things like surf & turf, pan seared scallops, etc), two kinds of wedding cake with a dessert station with 7 other desserts, open bar, etc.
I have heard that it's stupid to give out anything besides food for a favor. But, we are having so much nice food at the wedding, I feel like I can't give out good food for the favors (we can't really afford it because we are spending a lot of money on the meal). I don't want to get stupid favors like bookmarks, and I was thinking about giving out measuring spoons or heart shaped cookie cutters because I love to cook, but boys probably won't like those things.
So would it be bad to just not give out wedding favors at all? I don't know…I need some opinions on this because I can see arguments for both sides. Thanks!
